Contents of a Colored Stone Grading Report:
- Species and Variety
- Shape and Cut (cushion, round, etc)
- Faceting arrangement (step cut, mixed cut, cabochon, etc)
- Weight
- Physical measurements
- Color Grade
- Primary and secondary hue(s)
- Light Source
- Tonal Grade
- Clarity (using a recognized grading system)
- Cut Grade
- Brilliance grade (When applicable)
- Comments
- Enhancements: The majority of colored gemstones on the market today have been treated in some form. When the enhancement is known, the type of enhancement will be identified: e.g. fracture filling, glass impregnation, dye, bleaching, oiling, heat, diffusion, etc.
- Origin (When Identifiable)
- Phenomenon (description of phenomenon e.g. asterism (star), color change, i.e.: 6-ray star, rays sharp, bright, straight, centered etc.)
- Carvings (description, content, quality, etc.)

The colored stone grading report is a color and quality analysis. It lists the weight, color, clarity, dimensions, description, and any enhancements that have been performed on the stone. It also includes a photograph of your stone. This report is scientifically prepared. There is no ownership or value assigned to the colored stone in the report.
